Basic Technical Requirements for Accessing SET-BC's
Online Resources and Services Requirements
- Able to connect using HTTP to www.setbc.org (IP 142.33.243.26) on port 80
- Javascript and cookies should be enabled
- Macromedia Flash Player 6 + browser plug-in, current version preferable
- A current web browser: Internet Explorer 6+, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape 6+, Safari, or Opera 5+
- Headphones and speakers for listening to multimedia
- Adobe Reader for accessing our PDF resources
Accessing Multimedia
Basic Requirements
- You will need an Internet connection with sufficient bandwidth. Most of our videos will download best with a downstream bandwidth of at least 100Kbps or higher. For some of our larger videos (10mb+) we recommend a downstream bandwidth of at least 1,000Kbps or higher for smoothest playback.
- Most of our movies and presentation requires the Flash plugin ver 6+. The most current version is preferable.
Older Multimedia that Runs on Windows Media Player
Some of our older webcasts and narrated demonstrations are presented through Windows Media Player. To watch these webcasts, you must be able to connect and receive Windows Media content (ASF) streamed via MMS and HTTP from streaming.setbc.org (IP 142.33.243.223) on port 80 and 1755
Connecting to an Online Training Session on SET-BC's Breeze Server
To participate in these sessions, you will need to be able to connect to SET-BC’s Breeze server, and will need to be using a suitable browser with the current version of the Macromedia Flash Player plug-in installed. You will also need a sound card, speakers, and microphone. Follow this link to test that your system and audio are functioning correctly.

- Ability to connect using HTTP and RMTP over HTTP to breeze.setbc.org (IP 142.33.243.225) on port 80 and 1935.

Connecting to SETpartners
- Ability to connect using HTTPS to setpartners.setbc.org (IP 142.33.243.28) on port 443
- A SETpartners user ID and password provided by SET-BC
SET-BC Email
To send and receive email from SET-BC, you will need to ensure that any spam or junk email filtering software that is in use either on your own system, or on your network, is not blocking messages from/to SET-BC’s mail servers or specific SET-BC email addresses.
- Ability to receive messages relayed from, and send messages to, marlin.setbc.org (alias smtp.setbc.org; alias pop.setbc.org; IP 142.33.243.216) and specific SET-BC addresses (e.g. name@setbc.org)
